Quraneyah is an app I’ve developed in close collaboration with its founder, evolving his initial idea of presenting the Quran as a card deck into a fully interactive experience. Together, we’ve introduced features like flipping each card for tafsir (verse explanation), marking favorites, seamless navigation between verses and chapters, and a suite of social features available through subscription. These additions foster a sense of community, allowing users to connect and support one another in their journey. We also integrated Quranic insights into the reading flow and included audio recitations and customizable settings to personalize the experience, making Quraneyah a uniquely engaging and accessible tool.

Quraneyah’s appeal lies in its simplicity and purposeful design, where form follows function. The neutral palette, accented by muted brand colors and brighter hues for user profiles, adds a touch of personalization and character. This straightforward yet engaging interface is enhanced by subtle micro-interactions and satisfying animations, making the user experience smooth, intuitive, and complete with a sense of warmth and clarity.

These three launch videos, created in Jitter and Adobe After Effects, have garnered over 1.8 million views on Instagram, driving the initial traction and surge in downloads as well as establishing Quraneyah’s active user base. Designed to be simple and direct, the videos mirror the app’s philosophy and approach by presenting Quraneyah in bite-sized, digestible snippets—just as the app itself breaks down the Quran into manageable verses. This success underscores the power of minimalism, demonstrating that concise, focused content can effectively engage and inform without overwhelming the viewer.
