As part of a university exploration in object reinterpretation, this project reimagines IKEA drawer separators, typically used for organizing interiors, as the structure for a handwoven tote basket. Stripped of their original context, the interlocking plastic elements were transformed into a sculptural form through weaving. The result is an object that challenges assumptions of function and form, giving a utilitarian item a new narrative through tactile craft.
